Different
groups hiked to different spots on Saturday.
Because
of the damp weather the hiking was a little challenging at times.
The
sights and sounds of God’s creation all around you made it worthwhile though.
There
was also time for relaxing and the sun did make an occasional appearance.
Tether
ball and challenges also proved to be popular.
The
food was plentiful and what wasn’t eaten was donated to the North Reading Food Pantry when we returned.
Everyone
gathered on Saturday evening at Chapel Rock for a very moving vesper service.
After
that it was back to the cabins for a campfire.
The
singing was enthusiastic and lasted well into the night.
Of
course you can’t have a camping retreat without S’MORES.
A
big thank you to Janet Nicosia who spearheaded the drive to do a camping retreat. Yvonne Sorenson, John Intorcio and Andy
Graham were also instrumental in making the retreat a reality. They were assisted
by the Ambassadors Ministry and it was truly a blessing to see so many people of different ages come together to make the
retreat a tremendous success!
